Air missions and airborne intelligence gathering along Russian borders: May 2020

An update to the previous post, here's the infographic for flights in May 2020.

Kaliningrad is busy as in the previous month.  Addition made to include the Barents Sea, (information from Russian 1st of June briefing), makes it more interesting to see. The U.S. Navy along withe the Royal Navy (UK) carried out some exercises in the Barents Sea, the 1st of its kind since the Cold War.

Here's April's tally of aircraft for comparison.  I also included Swedish intel flights to get the wider picture of the resources put into monitoring and gathering intelligence in the Baltics. Noteworthy, Sweden is also a participant in next week's U.S. led NATO's naval and air exercise, 'BALTOPS', the only non-NATO country out of 19 participants.
